Community Giving

Allen Press is committed to being a good citizen of both our local and the global community. Each year, our staff selects several organizations to support with a variety of fundraising activities. Monies are raised through employee-driven fundraising events, employee donations, and corporate donations. The charitable organizations chosen by the staff for 2012 include:

DCSS

Douglas County Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.

United Way

United Way
United Way creates long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of the most significant local issues. Common focus areas include helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence, and improving people’s health.
