Community Giving

Allen Press is committed to being a good citizen of both our local and the global community. Each year, our staff selects several organizations to support with a variety of fundraising activities. Monies are raised through employee-driven fundraising events, employee donations, and corporate donations. The charitable organizations chosen by the staff for 2013 include:

Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence

Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence
Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence provides safe, affordable after school programs for 1200 youth of Lawrence. Boys & Girls Club strives to give members life skills, realistic expectations to develop moral character and positive making skills.
 

United Way

United Way
United Way creates long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of the most significant local issues. Common focus areas include helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence, and improving people’s health.

Holiday Giving

Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.

Ballard Community Services

Ballard Community Services
The Ballard Community Center's food pantry allows low-income families and individuals to receive emergency food assistance. Food is provided on a walk-in basis for Douglas County residents.
