Aim and Scope

AMBIO was founded in 1972, the year of the first UN Conference on the Environment, held in Stockholm, Sweden.  The journal is a non-profit, multidisciplinary English language journal that addresses the scientific, social, economic, and cultural factors that influence the condition of the human environment.  It is indexed in more than 40 international databases, and distributed in more than 100 countries.  The subjects covered include ecology, environmental economics, geology, geochemistry, geophysics, paleontology, hydrology, water resources, oceanography, earth sciences, meteorology and physical geography.
