More than ever before, members, readers, and subscribers expect publishers and organizations to lead the charge in sustaining our environment. Selecting paper and distribution methods that are environmentally friendly and working with partners like Allen Press that employ responsible manufacturing processes help demonstrate your commitment to the environment.
Electricity generation is the single largest source of pollution in the United States. Currently, 90% of our electricity comes from fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Allen Press works with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation to support renewable energy initiatives by purchasing renewable energy certificates, or carbon offsets, to offset a percentage of the carbon emissions of our administrative offices.
The Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a non-profit organization, sells carbon offsets as renewable energy certificates to displace traditional polluting sources of electricity with clean, secure, and sustainable renewable sources of energy that come from solar, wind, and certified low-impact hydroelectric power from across North America.
Your organization can exhibit its support for environmental sustainability by participating in the Allen Press Renewable Energy Program. For as little as one cent per book, journal, or magazine, we will work with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation to acquire renewable energy certificates to offset the energy used specifically in producing your publication. In addition, we can further assist you in your efforts to promote your commitment to sustainability through the purchase of carbon offsets to offset the energy used in your editorial or business office.
If you would like to off set the energy used specifically in producing your publication, please contact your sales representative or account manager.
